Sinds de uitbraak van het COVID-19 virus in februari 2020 veranderde de wereld om ons heen en voor onszelf.
In navolging op de door het kabinet genomen besluiten, hebben wij als afdelingsbestuur ervoor gekozen om de reguliere clubavonden tot nader order uit te stellen. Het clubgebouw werd gesloten voor bijeenkomsten op dinsdagavond. De laatste reguliere clubavond vond hierdoor plaats op dinsdag 10 maart 2020.
Door de bestuursleden Gert-Jan/PD0GJK en Richard/PD3RFR werd het plan uitgerold om een radioronde op de huisfrequentie 145.325 MHz in het leven te roepen. Het was dan ook aan hun de eer om die op 17 maart om 20.00 uur te openen. In de eerste periode was het nog mogelijk om dat vanaf de club te verzorgen met maximaal 3 personen. Daardoor kon er na de ronde op de 2 meter ook vaak nog even een rondje op 40 meter en soms 80 meter gedaan worden, veelal was hiervoor Paul/PE2LZ de operator. Zelfs CW rondes zijn gehouden in die periode met dank aan Ab/PA5ABW.
Sinds de invoering van de avondklok op 23 januari 2021 verzorgen de heren GJK & RFR de ronde wekelijks remote vanuit hun eigen shack via de zender op het clubstation. Hoe lang nog? De tijd zal het leren. Alle verslagen die gemaakt zijn van de Utrechtse Radio Ronde vind je hieronder op deze pagina.
